Nevada golf course community, Tuscany Residential Village, by Rhodes Homes, showcases a real Italian theme.

Design elements include a cobblestone roadway, landscaping accented by palm trees and wrought-iron lamp posts. These features are complemented by landmarks such as an bell tower, clock tower and an obelisk.

"We wanted an entry feature that would complement the design of the Italian themed community while making a statement at the same time. The Mediterranean and Tuscan feel of the landscape design, the cobblestone road and large, hand-crafted urns draws people into the Old World charm of Tuscany," said Glynda Rhodes, vice president of interior and architectural design for Rhodes Homes. "The architectural and design teams worked very hard on the details to create this Tuscan-themed village."

The Nevada golf course community, guard-gated real estate development, sits on 518 acres and is located in Henderson.

"The location of this community is amazing, with mountain views on several sides and a view of the Las Vegas Strip. We couldn't have asked for a better piece of land to build a little taste of Italy in the desert," Rhodes said. "We are thrilled with how this community is coming to realization. The colors and special features have transformed Tuscany into a community that people are proud to call home."

Two linear parks are under construction with walkways accessing playgrounds, sand volleyball courts and picnic areas. A 5-acre park is planned, as is a small retail complex called Botticelli Market Place.

A 35,000-square-foot recreation center is under construction and will be open exclusively to residents of Tuscany. Completion is expected in November 2006.

Tuscany will encompass about 2,000 homes among 18 neighborhoods at buildout.
